OUR STORY

Built from frustration. Sustained by purpose.

The story of Parabolic Tech is the story of engineers who decided to stop complaining and start building.

THE BEGINNING

A problem that had no good solution

Parabolic Tech was founded by engineers who had grown frustrated watching African organizations pay premium prices for mediocre software imported from abroad. The pattern was depressingly familiar: a government ministry or large enterprise would contract an international vendor, spend millions, wait months, and receive a system that failed within the year — because it had been designed for a different context entirely.

We believed — and still do — that the best software for African organizations should be built by people who understand Africa: its connectivity constraints, its regulatory landscape, its languages, and its ambition.

Build software that works. Not software that works in a demo. Software that works in the field, at 2am, on a 3G connection, when everything is on the line.

— Kwame Asante, Co-Founder & CEO

THE EARLY YEARS

Starting small, committing fully

We started in Accra, Ghana, with a small team of three engineers and a single mandate: build software that works. The early days were scrappy — no office, no brand, just a reputation for delivery that spread through word of mouth.

In 2020, we signed our first government contract with the Ghana Revenue Authority. By the end of it, we had shipped something that worked at national scale. That changed everything.

EXPANSION

Beyond Ghana

By 2021, demand from Nigerian clients had grown enough to justify opening an office in Lagos. The Nigerian market brought new challenges — a more competitive landscape and clients who had been burned by promises before. It sharpened us.

Today, Parabolic Tech operates across Ghana and Nigeria, serving government ministries, financial institutions, international NGOs, and fast-growing startups. Every project carries the weight of that original mandate: build software that works.
